Character Development- Gertie

Gerty was a character that was in an early version of the Curious George movie, and ended up on the cutting room floor in the final version of the script. She was one of the museum employees ( 0ne of three, who were relatives of the Man in the Yellow Hat) that would eventually help save the museum. I won’t bore you with the details, since I wasn’t the script writer.

Gerty was supposed to be a new-millennium type senior citizen with lots of spunk and pizzazz. I did a lot of development work on her, including several test animation scenes which were unfortunately “lost”. (What I was told was that the sound track I animated to “could not be found”.) I thought she was one of the best character designs I had ever worked with, and still do.
